Andy Brown from Welfihols explains how heat 5 was for his team:
After the last heat we thought things could not get any worse, BUT,o my god was this one hard weekend. We started off Friday morning and got there in plenty of time to view the pegs and was a little disappointed that peg six in the bay was not on. But never mind, we got the peg next door in the draw. Well you'd think one peg down from the top peg would be ok - never a badder thought went through my head ever when it comes to fishing carp.
Friday night was a start we did not want - a 17.5lb cat then nothing at all till Saturday morning were we had the two fish which made up our total. So as you can see this one got away very quickly and was a hard weekend. So much so that for the first time ever I had some sleep on saturday night.
As you can see by the results in weights, the weekend was hard going for everyone and the weather played its part - Friday windy, Saturday started with a shower then hot hot hot. I've been asked to try again by my mate but I do not now if I will so i'll let you know i get on. Tutti Fruity seems to have worked well with no spodding done over the weekend at all. Well done to the lads on peg four best of luck in the final.....come on you North Wales lads ...
Congratulations to the first and second placed pairs. We look forward to welcoming you back to Celtic Lakes in August for the final.
